To answer the call for greater youth engagement, Proton organized a One Million Youth Gathering last May which saw Malaysian youth from all walks of life gathered at Putrajaya, participating in over 200 programmes and activities such as hip hop dance performances and Proton lifestyle fashion show.
One such eventful activity was the showcasing of various Proton models together with a product and technical briefings to enable the youths to have deeper product understanding. The attendees were duly impressed by our national carmaker’s commitment towards innovation.
The gathering is a clear case that PROTON is one national car maker that keeps the youth in mind. Understanding the challenges of cost and the increasing standard of living, Proton has recently unveiled Proton Saga FLX 1.3L; a new model enhancement to its Proton Saga model which is affordably priced, guaranteeing as well increased fuel-efficiency besides eco-friendly emissions.

Design:

Performance:

The automatic variant of the new Saga FLX 1.3L utilizes the CVT, as opposed to the conventional Automatic Transmission (AT) gear. CVT ensures silky smooth gear shifts (no more jerkings!), allows the engine to have less wear and tear (cost less to maintain!) and thus improve its durability. Another power feature under CVT’s is its ability to simulate a 6 speed automatic gearbox.
Safety Features:
For most of us who put a lot of emphasis on safety features, the Proton Saga FLX 1.3L Executive variant comes driver and passenger air-bags along with Anti-lock Braking System (ABS) and Electronic Brake-force Distribution (EBD). The body shell of a Saga FLX is built stronger and stiffer for the passenger’s protection too.
Fuel Consumption:
Because of the lighter built of the engine, along with the “stepless” gear transition that the CVT provides, the Saga FLX can deliver a fuel consumption drop of four percent in an a urban driving environment, with consumption dropping up to 10 percent when driven on highways. This transmission change improves the drivability and responsiveness of the car without compromising its power.
Affordability:
