HTC is offering  Chinese New Year  promos via their Facebook page for a large range of their products for the coming festive season. Granted it’s no Cyber Monday, but this is a chance for you to hook some additional loot like SD cards and HTC Dot View cases with your purchase, should you hbe already planning on snagging yourself one of their devices. Of the products eligible for free gifts are the  HTC Desire EYE ,  HTC Butterfly 2  and the new  Nexus 9  tablet to name a few. The promo will last from the 30th of January all the way till the 1st of March 2015, and all you need to do is fill up this  form  after you’ve purchased your device to redeem the goodies.

After unveiling the HTC One series, an entry level smart phone is expected to be released soon. Dubbed as the HTC Golf, the device you’re seeing here is rumoured to be the upcoming HTC Wildfire C, the successor of the Wildfire S. In terms of specs, it comes with a 3.5″ display pushing 480×320 pixels, 512MB of RAM and 4GB of on board storage which is expandable with microSD. Over at the back, there’s a 5MP camera and what’s interesting to note is the presence of a front facing camera. It runs on Ice Cream Sandwich and it is likely to run on a single core processor of 1GHz or below. Previously the Wildfire / Wildfire S was demanding a rather high price tag beyond RM1000 mark. Since its higher spec HTC One V is priced at RM999, we might be looking at a more affordable price tag below RM900, which makes it a worthy competitor for the Samsung Galaxy Y.

The HTC One X is officially available today with contract offers from DiGi, Celcom, Maxis & U Mobile. We brought all 4 telco plans side by side and compared the total cost of ownership for easy reference. For DiGi, their DG Smart Plans bundles only data which means that all calls and SMS made are charged separately. For comparison sake, we looked only at the minimal cost which is based on assumption of data usage only without any calls/SMS made. On Maxis, the bundled plans are based on bolt-on data plans on top of postpaid plans. For this comparison, we based on our calculation on Maxis’s Value First postpaid plan of RM30/month for voice and SMS. For Celcom, all 3 plans come with bundled talk time, SMS and data while for U Mobile, it varies depending on plan. U Mobile’s U28 comes with free SMS while U58 comes with bundled voice calls. From now until 2nd April, HTC Malaysia is giving out a HTC One series phone on its Facebook page . All you need to do is like their Page and tell 10 friends why you would recommend a HTC One device. While they didn’t mention which “One”, the image suggests that they are giving out their flagship HTC One X with quad core processor. To get started on your chance of winning, head over to their Facebook page here . The HTC One Series will be launched in this region at the end of the month. Based on early pre-orders by some resellers, the HTC One X might be going for RM2,099 while the One V is going for around RM1,099 – RM1,199.

HTC has just announced the HTC Explorer, its latest entry-level Android smartphone. The HTC claims that the Explorer is its most affordable smartphone. The Explorer packs a 3.2-inch HVGA display with 320 x 480 resolution, a modest 600MHz processor, 512MB of RAM and a 3MP camera. The device runs Android 2.3.5 with the latest HTC Sense 3.5 UI skin on top. Judging by the specs, the HTC Explorer fits below the current HTC entry-level Android phone, the HTC Wildfire S which features identical specifications save for the camera. The Wildfire S has a 5MP camera while the Explorer carries a 3MP unit. The Explorer comes in three colours — Metallic Black, Active Black and Metallic Navy — and if you want to customise the device further, there will be optional back covers in Metallic Blue, Metallic Orange, Metallic White and Metallic Purple shades as well. HTC has been really busy of late with a slew of devices expected to make their debut in the coming weeks. The latest of which is this, the HTC Rhyme (codenamed: Bliss). The HTC Rhyme departs from the other Android smartphone in HTC’s range as it is the first to be primarily designed for women. For now we’re only presented with an official-looking render of the device with no details on specifications and pricing.  

The device you see above is the upcoming HTC device that will be running Windows Phone 7 Mango. The device — codenamed Omega, official name possibly Radar when it hits store shelves — is expected to feature an aluminium unibody, a 3.8-inch Super LCD display (800×480 pixels) with a 1.5GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon MSM8255 processor that’s very likely to be a single-core unit. There’s 512MB of RAM and 16GB of on-board storage and a 8MP camera with 720p video recording as well. The HTC Omega is said to feature a front-facing camera that is very likely to be the result of an expected deep integration of Skype in Windows Phone devices. Looks good. Something like a Flyer mini of sorts. Let’s hope the long awaited Mango update will deliver the goods for Windows Phone. HTC is expected to make an announcement with full details on the Omega (aka Radar) this September 1.

HTC Flyer & HTC Incredible S launch by Maxis by this Friday, April 15, 2011. Kudos to Maxis for bringing so many gadgets to Malaysia. Within 2 months’ time, Maxis has brought in Google Nexus S, Sony Ericsson Xperia arc and now HTC Flyer & HTC Incredible S! Maxis is the first telco in Malaysia to bring in HTC Flyer, a very promising tablet and underrated tablet. At first, I am also quite shocked that HTC is coming back into the tablet industry with such a great tablet. And, the name itself is also quite weird. Flyer. Something that we always see in our postbox and thrown everywhere. But HTC Flyer is nothing like that. If you’re eyeing for the HTC Desire S, it is coming real soon as Maxis has commenced its Registration of Interest. Last week, this was hinted when Maxis was calling for reviewers for the device on its Maxis10 program. Surprisingly there’s no ROI for the HTC Flyer despite its earlier announcement for Maxis 10. The HTC Desire S , the successor to HTC’s best-selling Android smartphone, is coming to Malaysia pretty soon. A few hours ago, Maxis Malaysia has announced via Facebook and also  Twitter , the latest smartphone device for the  Maxis10 Reviewers Programme . Guess what, it’s the HTC Desire S! Judging from this piece of news, it’s almost confirmed that Maxis Malaysia is set to bring the HTC Desire S to Malaysia (but not sure if HTC Desire S is exclusive to Maxis only) and it will be very soon (most probably this month) because it’s already a trend for Maxis to get bloggers to review a particular device, weeks before the device hit the market. The smartphone comes with Android 2.1 but I upgraded it to Android 2.2 when HTC released the update. The over-the-air update is brilliant! TC Aria is only 4.09 inch tall and 2.27 inch wide. Ladies with small palms would not have problem to hold it securely.The 3.2 inch (320×480 pixels) touch screen display is bright and clear. Touch screen is sensitive to recognize my finger swipes. Keyboard input is great and no problem with fat fingers. The first thing came in my eyes on the home screen is the big and fancy HTC Weather widget with flip clock and full screen animation. My friend got poisoned and bought HTC Aria just because of the widget! The HTC Aria might has a slower CPU speed of 600MHz but I do not feel any speed different compare to 1GHz smartphone.
