Perodua has taken the wraps of its new S-Series models, comprising the Viva S, Myvi 1.3 SE and Alza S. The Perodua S-Series is a new trim level that replaces certain variants in the respective line-ups such as the Viva BZ, Myvi 1.3 Premium and Alza Standard. ‘S’ stands for special, and Perodua describes the S-Series as its “most value-for-money variants” so far, with added equipment over the phased-out variants but with “no additional cost to the customer” – not to be confused with the range topping SE tag traditionally given to the priciest Myvi. Let’s start with the Viva S, which is the entry-level 1.0L Viva (above the 660 BX and 850 EX but below the Elite) and the cheapest automatic transmission-equipped car in Malaysia.
