Nexus 7 maker Asus confirms sales of Google’s tablet approaching 1m units a month
Google's Nexus 7 tablet appears to be selling well, with its manufacturer claiming that almost a million units a month are being snapped up by consumers. Sales of Google’s Nexus 7 device appear to be going well, with manufacturer Ausus reportedly saying it’s close to hitting the million-a-month milestone. Google’s first tablet offering was generally well received by industry critics when it launched in July this year though until this week there had been little word from the two companies behind the device as to just how well it was selling. Speaking to the Wall Street Journal on Tuesday following the Taiwan-based firm’s third-quarter earnings conference call, Asus chief financial officer David Chang said of Nexus 7 sales, “At the beginning, it was, for instance, 500K units a month, then maybe 600, 700K.
