What do you Get as Google AdSense Premium Publisher

If you did not know, Google has a premium AdSense service. Invitation for their Premium Publisher program requires you to have the following:
Google AdSense Premium Publisher program is a service available for websites who receive more than five million queries, or at least 20 million page views per month.

This is an un-official statement, which you can find all over the internet. But in the reality, they might approve websites with much less page view stats.

How to Get Invitation from Google

You cannot normally apply to use this program. This privilege is reserved for those who Google find attractive and worth as a partner. Here are some interesting thoughts I think Google is looking for when inviting new premium clients:

1. Page views – Of course Google looks for a websites that have a huge amount of traffic. But, I think this un-official statement is not correct completely. After all, you would need to have a few million monthly page views to get invited.
2. AdSense and AdWords – If you earn lot of money through Google AdSense program, or spend a lot of it on advertising through Google AdWords – it is more likely to get invited by Google to use their premium services.
3. Overall quality – Only selected websites on internet are invited by Google. So, you would need to have a quality website and content in order to get invited.

A good example, of a website which uses Google AdSense Premium Publisher program is a Digital Inspiration blog by Amit Agarwal. This blog gets around 3-4 million of page views monthly, and still gets Google invitation.
So, here is my corrected statement. Please remember that only Google knows the real requirements, and these are just my own thoughts:

Google AdSense Premium program is available for all websites who meet special Google requirements. Your website needs to be quality, well-standing and get millions of views to get invited.

Now, let’s go find out what do you get as a Google AdSense Premium publisher. Why it is important and why people try to get into it.

The Privilege of Using AdSense Premium

As I have said above, Google AdSense premium program is available only to the selected website owners. You can see how they work visually on many popular sites, such as CNN, About.com, MySpace…
Google AdSense premium customers have many advantages that are strictly forbidden for regular AdSense publishers. And there are some most important differences:

1. Advanced AdSense Ad Customization

Probably one of the main advantages of using AdSense premium program is this one. With this account, you can completely change, edit and optimize your ad appearance to fit on any website and in any size possible.
Also, all premium customers can use ad labels optionally. These publishers can completely remove the “Ads by Google” tagline from the ads and may even put any label of their choice.

2. More Related Ads

All regular AdSense publishers are not allowed to display Google ads on pages that contain pornography, or content related to gambling.
Anyway, this is not the rule for AdSense premium publishers. They might put ads on almost any place they want, simply because Google thrust them. Google will display related ads for all their pages, on almost any content they provide.

3. Custom Revenue Terms

A regular AdSense customer gets a fixed revenue percentage, and it is the same for all regular AdSense publishers. The rates are following:

• 68% revenue share for AdSense for Content
• 51% revenue share for AdSense for Search

These values are dating from 25. January 2011. These above revenue shares might change from time to time.
On the other hand, premium clients can negotiate the share percentage with Google. So they can make more money from their AdSense ads than regular customers.
